About SHS
Sexual Harassment Support is a non-profit, private venture.  The group was founded in 2005 by
sexual harassment victims for sexual harassment victims.   We are very appreciative of the positive
response  to what we are trying to do .

We decided to form the group and build this site because there is very little in terms of support for
people who have been sexually harassed. A widespread problem, people who have been sexually
harassed can have experiences that run the gamut from mild to the extreme, and they deal with
emotional effects that range from mere annoyance to their being so abused that they suffer same
effects as rape victims. Yet, the health and human services industry has done little in terms of
focusing on sexual harassment as a serious health issue. Everyone continues to view it either as a
social and political problem, or not even a real problem.  Indeed, when a sexual harassment victim
reaches out for help, the response is often hostile.  What support does exist often fosters a revenge
response to sexual harassment.  Moreover, there is the sad phenomena of sexual harassment
victims internalizing the abuses they experience, and projecting them onto other victims.

By creating SHS, we hope to help build an Internet community for sexual harassment victims and
survivors, and provide a safe place for them to find support and information while encouraging
constructive solutions to sexual harassment.   We know what you are going through,
you do not
have to prove your case with us
.  You don't have to be an activist, just be willing to share and support
others.

We are not psychologists or lawyers. Our membership is made up of harassment victims and
survivors, or their friends and loved-ones.  Our website and forums are administered and moderated
by sexual harassment and stalking survivors, and all work voluntarily.

We are deeply sorry for the circumstances that brought you here, but we hope we can offer you the
support and information you are looking for.

Both this website and the Sexual Harassment
Support Forum are dedicated to the memory of

Without even knowing her, we know what she

SHS is dedicated to the University of St. Thomas in
Houston, Texas.

If it were not for their chronic abuse and victim-blame of student
sexual harassment and sexual abuse targets,  slandering and
gang stalking (by faculty) of student sexual harassment and
stalking complainants, and their refusal to remedy the situation,
the inspiration for SHS would have never come about.
