Sexual Harassment Stories and Experiences

     I was subjected to sexual harassment in the form of being exposed to child pornography, pornography, harassed with sexual comments, as well as advances from two of my upper managers. I reported the sexual harassment and pornography to my superior. Only then to have been told that a certain employee was transferred in exchange for me from that specific location for the same complaints. A sexually hostile and perverse work environment! After 3 long weeks of complaining and expressing such ill actions, I was then transferred back to my original location.

     My supervisor and head of the HR then decided to stepped in. The Police came in and the computers were confiscated. The store’s management and employees were terminated. After the incident, the store was later opened back up only to have put me back there to help manage and operate with a new staff.

     After my complaint, I received various harassing phone calls on my personal cell phone. I was told that I would be arrested and convicted of such crimes in relation to the incidents in which occurred.

     In a taped conversation between the head of the HR and I, was nothing but apologies and acknowledging the fact of them knowing about previous complaints and “trouble” from the same employees and that specific location. On the same tape there were multiple conversations between the HR dept and I, where it was advised to me that I move, change my number and send my child somewhere where she would be safe…(Private School, with another relative, ect…)

     Everything I had endured during and after the incidents has done nothing but hurt my family and I even more. From what time I did stay with the company afterwards was believed to be nothing other than retaliation. It would be unreasonable hours, commuting up to 140 miles a day transferred to different locations, and my job duties changed. It even came down to me being told to go out side and pick up cigarette butts off the parking lot!

     It became a bit much and I felt that I could no longer endure the harassment and retaliation after the fact. So I gave up. Even after leaving the company I was still being contacted and being accused of ridiculous and false allegations…. theft of phones… only for them to call back days later and say sorry we found them! What’s that all about? And really, from all that has occurred and is lost, I know I can’t go back and take what I have sacrificed… valuable time with my daughter, my family, and my health, I can only pray for healing from the emptiness and emotional distress in which this company has placed upon me and my family… KNOWINGLY!!
