I don’t know what any of them are going to do next
Brittany, Kansas
I am 13 yrs old and my neighbor has been harassing me for about 3 months, and I am not sure if it is over yet.
When school ended for the Summer, my neighbor, his friend, and little brother, started grabbing me. Then they would yell “nice butt, turn around so i can see the figure” and stuff like that.
Then one day they pushed me to the side of my house and brought me to the floor. Once I was on the floor they started grabbing me. I tried kicking and pushing, but they were a lot stronger than me.
Another day, my neighbor stole my cellphone & got my number. Then he would call me all the time. He would also text me. He would say I will pay you to go into my room & I will pay you to suck my ****. I said “No!!”
He would follow me places when I walked or road my bike. He would call my cellphone saying” I’m right out side of your room by the window.”
I don’t know what any of me going to do next. I’m scared that they are going to rape me or something. My friends are scared for me, too.

Brittany, I’m cannot believe what you have to go through. I would encourage you to tell an adult that you trust and feel closest to. I personally would tell one of my parents, most likely my mom, because as a female, she might be able to identify with me most. As difficult and embarrassing as it might be, I’m sure that it would work out for the best. I would definitely tell them immediately- These boys have absolutely no right to touch you or make lewd comments to you.

Hi Brittany,
As a Mother of 2 children, I feel that you must tell someone, a counselor at school, someone at your church, another neighbor or go to the police and I am sure they will talk to the boys. This can’t go on and you wouldn’t want another girl to go through what you are going through. So someone must know and you shouldn’t have to worry about such things at your age.
Take care and be strong!

Dear Brittany:
Your grandparents would be far more stressed out if something happened to you that they could have helped prevent. Talk to them about what is going on.
Don’t pick up when they call you on your cell phone (assuming you have caller ID and recognize the numbers they’re calling from). If they are stupid enough to leave a lewd voice message you’ll have proof for the police and or their parents. If they text you a lewd message save that as well.
It is a shame that these idiots are harassing you like this. All it might take to get it stopped is having their parents find out.

I had a similar case with a principal, but you need to do something. I wish I had. You said you had friends who were worried about you, tell their parents. Just find an adult who will do something. You can’t let one stupid principal make it so this goes on. You need to find a way to stop this before it gets even more out of control.
