Maybe he’s too friendly
Kathryn, New York
Now I know my story isn’t that horrific, but sexual harassment is sexual harassment….
A pharmacist was filling in because our usual pharmacist could not work that night. Our usual pharmacist gave me a heads up that this pharmacist isn’t all that friendly.
Later that night as we were closing, I was the last one leaving. The temporary pharmacist was at the door waiting to lock it, but this paper kept falling and I kept having to pick it up. He said “Hurry up, or well, you could spend the night with me.”
I was appalled! That was inappropriate.
Next time if he does say something inappropriate again I will have something done about it. Maybe he’s too friendly.

Maybe he’s too friendly - and maybe he is testing you to see what you will put up with. Maybe he is STARTING with a smart remark, planning on escalating his advances later.
I think that you are smart to be concerned now. It was smart of you to write your story here - it can count as dated documentation as when you were worried, in case you ever need it.
Is it safe for you to see if other women have had the same complaint? How have their concerns been handled? I think that you should keep your guard up - look how many stories start with a ‘low-level’ remark, and then get worse! Take care of yourself.

I would have to agree with Robin. You are smart for noticing this and doing something about this, like keeping a log via this weblink. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as lucky in that my situation got a lot worst and now, I’m in the process of moving. They start with small comments (neighbor) until they can get more of your attention and then before you know it, they will violate your trust in one form or another. There are some great tools for how to handle this situation at this weblink. Great job in protecting yourself.
